Sprouts are not safe to be eaten raw unless grown under controlled conditions


Sprouts are kind of food commonly eaten raw, but in fact there is high risk to get food poisoning. Most of the time the seed is grown in a clean environment but sometimes the problem arouse from the seed itself. Seed can be contaminated with Salmonella, inside, and no matter how clean the growing environment, Salmonella bacteria can multiply when they have water and nutrient. The best way to prevent sprouts food poisoning is of course eating them cooked.
