[World Antibiotic Awareness Week, 13-19 November 2017] The WAAW is coming soon! This year the theme is: Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before taking antibiotics. WHO encourages countries, partners, and the public to join this campaign and help raise awareness of antibiotic resistance. Proper use of antibiotics is essential to prevent the emerging of antibiotic resistance. By achieving this, a One Health approach is useful to connect professionals across human medicine, animal medicine (including farming) and the general public to understand the antibiotic resistance concept so to act together to slow down the problem. It is hard (or impossible) to stop the disaster as it had started. The only thing we can do is to minimizing the spread of these multidrug resistant bacteria and practising proper use of antibiotic to prevent further development of multidrug resistant bacteria.
