Food Testing
Depends on the type of food, different types of microbiological analysis is necessary. Aerobic colony count (ACC/APC), hygiene indicator organisms like E. coli, Enterobacteriaceae are those which are commonly employed in food hygiene programme. LSM laboratory provides food testing services for these and the below organisms with a methodology in concordance with local and international standards including ISO, FDA (Food and Drug Administration, US), APHA (American Public Health Association, US) and AOACInternational (Association of Official Analytical Chemists International). We also provide antimicrobial resistance testing service on bacteria isolated from food source. Our Hong Kong registered medical laboratory technologist team at our Clinical Microbiology Department provide antimicrobial susceptibility testing according to international standard such as CLSI and EUCAST, and to apply the technology to provide multidrug resistance bacterial identification from food source.
